On the afternoon of October 19, 2011, a group of representatives from Rangsit University visited Kunming University. By approval of and on behalf of the Kunming University administration, Vice-President Li Xiang signed a cooperative memo of understanding with Rangsit University and Rangsit University's Chinese Business School.

  Rangsit University's Vice-President, Nares Pantaration led the Director of Academic Cooperation, Kittisak Tripipatporchai, the Dean of the Chinese Business School, Natee Taweesrifuengfung, and the Head of International Affairs, Tim Zhang, on a visit to Kunming University. On behalf of Kunming University, Vice-President Li, as well as the College of Economics' Party Secretary Dr. Li Yuebo along with staff from the International Exchange Department warmly received the group of representatives from Rangsit University.

    This was the second visit to Kunming University by representatives from Rangsit University. Since the first visit, the College of Economics drew up a detailed cooperative plan for the two universities based on their previous and ongoing discussions, and drafted a memo of understanding. Upon approval from university leadership, Vice-President Li was sent to formally sign the cooperative memo of understanding with Rangsit University. Both parties conducted an in-depth discussion of how to carry out this project within the cooperative framework. During the discussion, Vice-President Li gave full affirmation to the specific cooperative project drawn up by the College of Economics. The cooperation agreement includes strong practical plans such as: establishing a common human resources database between the two universities, exchanging students and faculty, cooperation on graduate student training, and cultural and research exchange projects. Both sides committed themselves to proactive communication, open and honest cooperation, and making every effort to understand and carry out the specifics of this cooperative project.

    The signing of this memo of understanding will greatly widen the channel for international exchange and cooperation for Kunming University, and enhance its name and reputation abroad.
